Is your PS4/PS4 Pro or Xbox One S/X console getting to slow to load your games? Then you might want to upgrade the internal hard drive to an SSD. Solid-state drives are a great improvement for any gaming PC and console.
Next-gen consoles will no longer rely on mechanical hard drives as SSDs have become the new norm for gaming. Your PS4/PS4 Pro and Xbox One S/X uses a slow mechanical hard drive that has a 5,400 rotation speed per minute. Solid-state drives are much faster and quicker to respond. Upgrading the existing hard drive to an SSD will provide a significant boost but you still need to consider the pros and cons.

In my personal opinion, upgrading your PS4/PS4 Pro and/or Xbox One S/X with an SSD is a great way to give your console a performance boost. Your system will boot faster and load games quickly. SSDs are more reliable than your particular mechanical disk drives. SSDs are future proof where you can always remove the SSD and install it to any computer.
Is it worth it, for me, Yes. Should you do it, we'll its up to you to decide.

As we continue to live through this pandemic crisis, many people had to work from home. Student's had to continue their education online, Teacher's had to transition to online teaching, and businesses to work from home. This caused many people to purchase new technology equipment for their work at home office.
Many local stores, such as Best Buy, was sold out of pre-built computer and laptops. Even Amazon was sold out and buying components to build a computer was very hard to come by. As a computer technician who does computer repairs and offers technology advice, was very hard to find parts. Even when parts become available, they sell out like hot cakes within minutes.

So to get back with the topic, "building a PC during these times?" This is a controversial question to answer as it all depends on purpose of building a PC today. If you have a good system and it does what it needs to do, then you probably don't need to build a new computer. If your computer is running slow and it has some decent parts, then you can probably upgrade some of the components to improve the performance. But there's an issue in which parts are limited and some components are not available to purchase. The main components that are hard to come by are motherboards, graphics cards, power supplies, and web cameras.
To build a computer today, you will pay more for these components. Especially power supplies in which they have gone up between twenty to fifty dollars more. As a result of these price markups, you also see price gouging from seller's in Amazon and on newegg. Even the used market has also started to raise the price and even price gouging. I have been in the market to buy a webcam from Logitech which retails for $99 and these sellers are selling them for over $200. I would suggest to wait until your local tech store restock with inventory and hopefully this happens soon.
Lets just say late June or early July may be the time where we may see some sort of inventory and maybe some normality in the tech industry. More info to come as I will post an update and provide some feedback towards this topic.

As you are all aware, the health issues has disrupted a global stop of production for electronics around the world. This has impacted many businesses and consumers in many ways. So our question is, are PC in general going to be affected?
Computer sales have been impacted as many manufacturers have already posted their quarterly earnings. The outbreak from this virus not only impacted computer but also smartphones, game consoles, televisions, automobiles, and other tech/electronic markets. The majority of components are mainly made in China which has caused a shortage in the production of PCBs and memory to name a few.
This is going to be a challenge for China and for the entire World. With limited supply of components, prices may rise on all electronics. The question you may have on your mind is if you should buy a computer or laptop now, or build your own computer. Now, I can't answer that question for you but I can provide an opinion on that matter.

To buy or not to buy, what should you do? If you already have a decent computer and it is working great, then you probably don't need to buy a new one. It may only need an upgrade, such as a solid state drive and more memory. Solid state drives and memory are part of the affected components, so I would recommend to buy these parts now. We don't know, but we speculate that prices may go up.
If you are trying to build a computer, or wanting to upgrade your existing computer, then this suggestion is for you. If you already have parts that you have been buying and you just need a few more components, then go ahead and buy the parts that you need to complete your build. As of writing this article, the prices for computer components haven't changed but this doesn't mean that they won't.

If you already have a great computer that is equipped with an Intel 7th or 8th gen CPU, or a Ryzen 1000 or 2000 series, then you don't need to upgrade. First of all, you need to know the difference between a need and a want. If you have the money, then you can buy what you want. But if you are limited, then buy what you need. Most computers only need an upgrade to improve performance for daily routines and for PC gaming.
The most expensive component will be the graphics card. So like I said before, do you need a new graphics card, or want a new one? I have answered this question to many of my clients. If you have a GTX 970 or higher, then you can wait. If you have an RX 570 or higher, then you have the option to either upgrade or to wait. It's up to you on what you decide. All I am providing is my personal opinion on this matter. We just hope that it doesn't bring another crypto-currency-mining disaster, when all GPUs prices went up the roof and were hard to obtain.
So if you are planning to buy a pre-made computer this year, and you are waiting for an income tax refund, then my suggestion is to buy it, if you need it. If you were planning to build it yourself, or upgrade your current system, and you're waiting for some income tax refund as well, then my suggestion is for you to think about it. Make your decision on the following, do I really need it or do I just want it? If you can wait a few months in purchasing new components, or buying a new computer, then wait. Make a responsible decision. The choice is yours to make.

As Intel races to get market-share from its competition. Intel has slashed their desktop processor price in order to compete with AMD's third-gen Ryzen. But even with the price cut, it still seems that AMD is a better buy. AMD has lowered the cost of second-gen Ryzen's such as the 2600 and the 2700 CPU's. Once they are gone, third-gen Ryzen CPU will follow the same price trend. AMD has announce that their Ryzen 4000 CPU's will be out in 2020. So what is Intel doing or going to do for 2020?
